Bride 7 - Large (Giclee Signed Limited Edition of 5) by David Walker

artrepublic has pleasure in introducing an exclusive series of Limited Edition Silkscreen’s from artist Nicolas Ruston, entitled “Queens Head”. The prints are available in Gold (edition of 10), Silver (edition of 10) or Black and White (edition of 50).
The edition explores the notion of artificial manipulation and is influenced by the misrepresentation of The Queen in a 2007 documentary trailer for Monarchy: The Royal Family at Work. Footage of The Queen was edited in non-chronological order making it appear as though she had stormed out of a photo shoot.
Ruston’s work is concerned with collective beliefs and shared verbal and visual narratives in relation to the mass media. He has developed several techniques unique to his practice including scratch-painting which is the medium in which Queens Head has been created. He is creative director of an advertising agency and brings a knowledge and understanding of the mass media into his work.
